It is a very common bird in Spain and across Europe.

They are easy to surprise in vacant fields or neglected crops, where they feed on all kinds of wild grasses : jaramagos , chickweed, dandelion , nettles, 

It is not difficult to observe them jumping from plant to plant , sometimes flying in group frightened by some alarm to land back later and perhaps a little while ...
